Artist Statement

I love the way sunlight plays on an object and the interesting colors that the light reveals while it changes subtly with each passing moment.  Vivid and rich or soft and subtle, it is often the luminosity of flowers and their petals that capture my heart and why I feel compelled to paint them.  Along with painting, I love to garden and many of my garden subjects find their way into my paintings along with the wildlife that visit.  I work in a representational style and strive to produce paintings that are alive, yet delicately detailed.
